We help youth resist oppression by building community, healing, and growing together.
Youth OUTright engages in intersectional and intergenerational dialogue with a focus on gender and racial justice. Our work includes programming for youth ages 11-24, training for youth-serving organizations, and advocacy for policies that protect Queer and Trans youth.

A Safe & Affirming Space for Youth
“Youth OUTright is an incredibly safe and affirming space for youth. I really appreciate the staff, who are wonderful humans. They encourage discussion and different viewpoints. Youth OUTright has programs where youth can hang out and talk, and also programs where youth can learn about other experiences, important things to know to help them through life, and how to create impactful and meaningful change. Youth OUTright is important because it is a space for Queer youths to be themselves, and to change, learn, and have important discussions where they don’t have to worry about being judged. Youth OUTright also provides important resources such as trans tape and harm reduction kits, as well as mental health resources. Youth OUTright needs to exist in WNC because Queer youth need this safe space.”`

“My son is 15 years old, queer, and BIPOC, living in rural WNC. He’s also neurodivergent and is in therapeutic care for depression. He’s new to Western NC, and living in a rural community where he has to keep a lot about himself concealed for personal safety. Youth OUTright has been a welcoming, trauma-informed, come-as-you-are place of friendship, growth, and confidence for him. He finds himself wanting to return to this incredible space again and again, because he gets to be his entire self there. I am so grateful for the existence of this organization, and the caring individuals who are helping a lonely kid feel rooted, supported, seen, and valued.”
